Technology Training Foundation of America presents youth leaders of San Diego Young Judaea with needed high-value equipment

Combined efforts of nonprofits sprout young leaders in San Diego San Diego, CA, October 3, 2006:

On September 26, the Technology Training Foundation of America (TTFA), located in San Diego, made an historical investment in our local leaders. The Foundation, with a mission to help bridge the digital divide, awarded the San Diego chapter of Young Judaea (SDYJ) with 9 refurbished, high-powered computers. Young Judaea is the youth division of Hadassah, a national Zionist women’s organization that encourages youth to run their own programs. Youth-lead programs of Young Judaea work to promote skills development, social action, and learning of Jewish heritage. The Foundation’s generous donation of computers enables San Diego Young Judaeans to develop and run their community-based activities with less and less help from adults.

Yaron Lief, City Coordinator of SDYJ, couldn’t stop smiling when told of the gift. “This is a big deal for us…it’s so amazing what young people can accomplish when given the tools they need to succeed and make a difference.” Joanne Max, a proud SDYJ mother, said “My son, Andrew, is a natural leader. He was selected by staff at Young Judaea at age 16 to play a leadership role to build the local chapter. He accepted the task, at first, with some reluctance but then spent countless hours devoted to his responsibility. He is now the organizer of curriculum for regional meetings and conventions.”

The Technology Training Foundation of America works to provide upgraded computer equipment to schools and nonprofit organizations throughout California. “The success of this program and our ability to provide upgraded computer equipment depends upon the continued generosity of our donors and refurbishing partners”, stated Jeanette Roach, President of TTFA.
