All About: DAILY SCHEDULE

This is a sample schedule for what we have planned for campers in most camp days!


7:30 Hashkama (Wake Up)
Madrichim (counselors) in each bunk are responsible for waking up their bunk, making sure everyone is dressed appropriately and then going to the flagpole. Chanichim may not leave the bunk without hats and sunscreen on.
8:00 Mifkad Boker (Flag Raising)
Chanichim (campers) line-up by tsrif (cabin). Mifkad Boker, conducted by the Rosh Machane, consists of creative roll call by tsrif, flag-raising, and the singing of the American National Anthem.
8:15 T'fillot (Prayers)
Each aidah is assigned a weekly site for t'fillot. At least once a week t'fillot will be done as a kvutsa (large group). T'fillot should be led in a thought-provoking, innovative way. When aidot do t'fillot separately, they may study the development of prayers, the meaning and purpose of prayer, etc. The goal on these days is to make t'fillot relevant and meaningful for the chanichim.
9:00 Aruchat Boker (Breakfast)
All meals are eaten together as an aidah (except for Shabbat). Meals begin with the Hamotzi blessing and no food should be served before the prayer is said. Medications will be distributed during the meal by the nurse. Merakzim will sit together with the Rosh Machane at breakfast to review the daily schedule. The meal ends with the singing of the Birkat Hamazon.
10:00 Nikayon (Clean up)
All chanichim and madrichim in the tsrif must make their beds and clean their individual area (floor, cubby). Each tsrif must have a work wheel so that the responsibilities are rotated daily (i.e.: sinks, toilets, sweep, porch, etc.). By the end of Nikayon, the tsrif should be ready for inspection. Each day, the tsrif will receive a score, and at the end of each week, the tsrif with the highest average will win a special treat.
10:45 Sports
Our sports program includes basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, kickball, and Israeli games. Campers learn the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship in the context of spor games are also offered, with different materials and unusual rules, challenging our campers with new games.
11:45 Omanut (Arts and Crafts)
Whether campers are making murals, mosaic, mezuzot, or chamsot, Omanut is always a busy place! Many of our activities have Jewish themes. Other activities utilize recycled materials like milk cartons or cereal bowls.
1:00 Aruchat Tsohoraim (Lunch)
Aidot will come into the Chadar Ochel together and sit at their assigned tables. After lunch, there is a short cheering period. Hoda'ot (announcements) will be made and Birkat Hamazon is sung.
2:00 Menucha (Rest Hour)
This time is for the chanichim to do quiet activities and rest in their tsrifim.
3:00 Chuggim (Elective Period)
The campers will choose an elective or activity to participate which is lead by madrichim. Chuggim will teach teamwork and encourage campers to make new friends while having fun and learning something new.
4:00 Peulat Chinuch (Educational Acitivty)
The campers will participate in an educational activity related to Israel led by the madrichim. These activities are meant to broaden the camper's knowledge regarding different aspects of Israel. Participation is highly recommended by all campers.
5:00 Swimming
This is a fun time for everyone. Madrichim will be required to be on their highest alert while campers are in the water. Campers will be required to act maturely and safely with each other.
6:00 Chofesh (Free Time)
This is an organized free time. The chanichim will be informed what parts of the camp are opened and they may go to any of these activities.
6:45 Mifkad Erev (Flag Lowering)
Camp will line-up by tsrif. Nikayon scores are announced, chanichim are chosen to lower the flag, and we sing Hatikvah - Israel's National Anthem.
7:00 Aruchat Erev (Dinner)
Same as the other two meals:
8:00 Peulat Erev (Fun, night activity)
The evening activity is a fun activity done with your aidah, several aidot, or as an entire machane (camp). Locations will be announced at dinner.
9:15 Lilah Tov Ofarim (Good night)
9:30 Lilah Tov Tsofim (Good night)
